Kathy Sue Richards

Kathleen Sue Richards, also lovingly known as Kathy, was born on April 11, 1957, a daughter of the late Veldon “Buck” Brand and Patricia (Vineyard) Brand. Kathy departed this life on Friday, December 18, 2020 at her home, having reached the age of sixty-three years, eight months, and seven days.

On September 18, 1976, Kathy was united in marriage to Jeffrey Richards and they shared 43 years together.

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her two children’ J.D. Richards and wife Belinda, Erin Rayfield and husband Dea; nine grandchildren, Sehra, Malanei, Kelseton, Hunter, Taylor, Brody, Will, Josh, and Annie; seven great-grandchildren: Easton, Nollyn, Bryson, Jasper, Emma, Rouger and Rosalee; brother, Denny Brand and wife Diana; sister, Krista Snyder and husband David; sisters-in-law, Sue Jackson and Patti Barnett; dear aunts and uncle, Midge “Aunt Sissy” Johnson, and Larry and Treva Lovvorn. Kathy will also be greatly missed by many special nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends whom she loved so very much.

In addition to her father and mother, Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffrey Richards on June 19, 2020; great-granddaughter, Willow Kley; brother, Donnie Brand; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Burnham and Alma Richards; brother-in-law, Bill Jackson; sister-in-law, Doris Ann Collins; and aunt Dorothy “Dot” Jennings.

Visitation was held on Monday, December 21st from 5 to 8 P.M. at DeClue Funeral Home. Visitation resumed on Tuesday, December 22nd from 9 to 11 A.M.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 22nd at 11 A.M. at DeClue Memorial Chapel. Interment followed at New Masonic Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
