Gerald Golden

Gerald Golden, 75, of Pana passed away Monday, June 16, 2025 at his home.  He was born June 13, 1950 in Washington County to the late Willie John & Roxie (Henson) Golden. Gerald and Melinda Kinney were married on September 18, 1976 and she survives.  
Gerald was a graduate of Potosi High School. He worked as a system analyst for the State of Illinois for several years and retired from there. He was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Pana and enjoyed camping & fishing with the kids when they were younger.  He also loved taking his son, Neil, on eat out rides.
In addition to his wife, Gerald is survived by his sons: Ryan (Sarah) Golden, Taylorville, IL; Andrew (Becky) Golden, Shelbyville & Neil Golden at home; grandchildren: Jaida Golden, Normal, IL and Bennett & Myles Golden and siblings: Don Golden, Missouri; Elba Raven, Washington; Melba Beck, Missouri; Mary Dooley, Taylorville, IL; Beverly Wells, Pennsylvania .  He was also preceded in death by siblings: Billy Golden, Alfred Golden, Jim Golden, Harold Golden & Ina Kay.
A graveside service for Gerald will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025 in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Oconee at 11:00 a.m. with Father Joseph Havrilka officiating.  
Memorials in Gerald’s honor may be made to A.A.M.P. and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
