From the March 9, 1970 Edition... FUNERAL HELD MARCH 18 FOR RETIRED CARMAN

Services for Guy Jinkerson, 69, respected resident of DeSoto for 44 years, were held on Wednesday afternoon, March 18, 1970, at two o’clock in a chapel of Mothershead Funeral Home. Officiating was Rev. Milton Elmore, pastor of First Baptist Church. Burial was in Woodlawn. Masonic service was held Tuesday evening.

Mr. Jinkerson retired in December 1963, at the Missouri Pacific freight car shops here, after more than 37 years service. Though his activities were somewhat limited because of declining health, he continued active and followed several special interests.

His death Sunday, March 15, at Missouri Pacific Hospital after a brief illness came as a shock to his family and many friends.
