Verla Arlene Mahurin

Verla Arlene Mahurin of Potosi, was born on January 5, 1936 in Hepburn, Iowa, a daughter to the late George W. and Dorothy A. (Swallow) Lawson. Verla went to her Heavenly Home on Thursday, February 4, 2021 having reached the age of 85 years and 30 days.
Verla is survived by her four children, Harriet Collier, Paula (Brett) Jones, Alan (Georgia) Smith, and Dorothy Smith; ten grandchildren, Lora Christen Reary-Roark (Terry), Josh (Chelsea) Cantrell, Gwendolynn (Thomas) Juliette, Wendy (Jeff) Sisk, Luke Smith, Jake (Megan) Smith, Jeremy Aubuchon and Holly Hampton, David Klekamp and Jennifer, Dalton Seim, and Dallas Seim; great grandchildren, Stephanie, Gary Jr., Jamie, Brady, Carson, Weston, Lathan, Lilly, T.J., Breanna, Tucker Ray, William, Maizy, Whitley, Jasper, Vivian, Jackson, Olivia, McKinley, Seth, Paige, Abby and Kate; nine great-great grandchildren; siblings: John (Alana) Lawson and Lois Jeffrey; son-in-law, Mark Seim.
In addition to her father and mother, Verla was preceded in death by her first husband, Freddie Smith; second husband, Sterling R. Mahurin; daughter, Beverly Seim; grandsons, James R. Reary and Matthew B. Reary; brother, Gerald Lawson; brother-in-law, Joe Jennings.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 8th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at DeClue Funeral Home.
A funeral service immediately followed beginning at 1 p.m. in the DeClue Chapel with Bro. Bryce Wilson officiating, assisted by Elder Leonard Compton. Interment followed at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Potosi.
Funeral arrangements were respectfully cared for by DeClue Funeral Home.
