Alla M. “Sudie” Missey

Alla Magdalene “Sudie” Missey was born in Blackwell on November 7, 1927 a daughter to Thomas Firman and Sarah M. (nee Politte) Boyer. She died at the Villa’s on February 6, 2021 at the age of 93. She is survived by her children, Ron (Jody) Missey, Potosi, Sharon Kite, Crystal City, Angie (Doug) Smith, DeSoto and Martha (Rick) Helenschmidt, DeSoto; eleven grandchildren; twenty three great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and her St. Rose of Lima church family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lester J. Missey; a granddaughter Leslie Nicole Helenschmidt; three sisters, Nellie Meadows, Freda Boyer, and Virginia Boyer and two brothers, Joseph Allen “Buck” Boyer and Edward Boyer. Sudie had worked at the DeSoto Shoe Factory and Jefferson Square Lodge. She also volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store in DeSoto. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Jodi Winckel “team Jordan” at any First State Community Bank Branch. A face covering is to be worn while visiting the family at the funeral home and also during the Funeral Mass.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 11th from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home with a Funeral Mass on Friday, February 12th at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church celebrated by Fr. Alexander Anderson.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Cemetery, Tiff.
