Clarence Delbert Bliss

Clarence Delbert Bliss of Potosi was born on July 24, 1937 in Potosi, a son to Clarence Elbert and the late Etta Marie (Dotson) Bliss. Delbert departed this life on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 having reached the age of 83 years, 6 months, and 10 days.

On November 28, 1959 Delbert was united in marriage to Mary Frances Minx and they shared 55 years together. Delbert was a longtime member at Pleasant Hill Christian Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from May 25, 1955 to December 31, 1958. Delbert was a very active man. He enjoyed running and exercising. Delbert never let the circumstances of his illness keep him from doing what he was passionate about.

Delbert’s memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him including his three children, Dawn Risher and husband Bill, Delbert Lee Bliss and wife Chung Hui and Bryan Bliss; four grandchildren, Kevin Petterson and wife Mary, Daniel Risher, Salina Bliss and husband Eric Rohr, and Justin Bliss; a great-grandchild, Isla Rohr; In-laws, Betty Bobo, James Minx and Ruth Winkleman. Delbert will also be missed by nieces, nephews, his church family and dear friends.

In addition to his father and mother, Delbert was proceeded in death by his loving wife, Mary Frances Bliss on January 2, 2015; and two sisters, Marlene Bliss and Virginia Rankins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a local food pantry.

A graveside service was held on Sunday, February 7th at 2 p.m. held at Pleasant Hill Christian Church Cemetery. Pastor Trevor Kean will officiate the service.
