From May 5, 1960 Edition... MRS. STELLA CASEY RITES CONDUCTED
Funeral services for Mrs. Stella Casey were conducted Saturday in Potosi. Mrs. Casey died suddenly, apparently from a heart attack, last Thursday morning at her home at 304 Clark Street, Potosi.
She was born October 9, 1890, in Washington County, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Kelsey of Cadet. She had resided in Potosi the greater part of her life.
On September 24, 1927 she was married to Sam W. Thurman, proprietor of the City Drug Store in Potosi. He died on April 11, 1941. On October 27, 1945, she was married to B. Gray Casey, a livestock raiser in the county, who preceded her in death on December 12, 1951.
Survivors include three - Mrs. Laura White of St. Louis County; and Mrs. Kathryn Thurman and Mrs. Marie K. Groves of Potosi; and two brothers, W.A. Kelsey, St. Louis and Ed Kelsey, of East St. Louis, Ill.
Funeral services were conducted at 9 a.m. Saturday morning from St. James Church in Potosi, with the Rev. Joseph T. Schejbal officiating. Burial was in the St. James Cemetery, under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home.
