David Hubert Marler

David Hubert Marler of Potosi was born on August 25, 1953 in Potosi a son to the late Hubert Marler and Jessie Lahmann Marler. David passed away on March 14, 2021 having reached the age of sixty-seven years, six months and twenty days.

Those who remain to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Dixie L Dix Marler; mother, Jessie Lorene Marler; children, Jason Marler and fiance Jaimie Counter and Jessica Skinner; grandchildren, Troy Skinner, Collin Marler, Draven Marler, Piper Marler, Logan Counter and Libby Counter; in-laws, Harold (Patti) Dix, and Mary (Tom) Ferguson; sisters, Anna (Jeff) Dunham, Alice (Brad) Adams and Patti (John) Pyatt.

David was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Marler, and sibling, Beverly (Harvey) Jones.

David had a true love for God, his family and singing for the Lord. On a nice summer day you could find him on the boat with his wife enjoying the lake if the fish were biting or not. He was always up for a nice round of golf or a hunting trip with friends or family and would spend endless hours listening to his favorite songs. He always had a melody in his heart and had a gift of sharing his love of God through song.

Visitation was held on Saturday, March 20th from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at DeClue Funeral Home Potosi. Visitation resumed from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 21st.

A funeral service was held on Sunday, March 21st at 1 p.m. at DeClue Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dwight Petete officiating.

Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
