Carol Nixon

Carol Lucille (Dicus) Nixon of Mineral Point was born September 4, 1946 in Lost Creek, a daughter to the late Robert Dicus and Marita Harvey. Carol departed this life Saturday, April 3, 2021 having reached the age of 74 years, 6 months and 30 days.
On December 4, 1981 Carol was united in married to Fred Nixon, Sr. and they were blessed with thirty-nine years and many wonderful memories together.
Carol is survived by her loving husband, Fred; sons, Jeff Russell and wife Karrie of Milford Michigan, Brian Russell of Potosi, Freddie Nixon and wife Jodie of Mineral Point; sisters, Karen Laramore and husband Tommy of Rolla, Linda Lennox and husband Tom of Jefferson City; grandchildren, Valerie Russell, Greg Russell, Zachary Russell, Blayne Nixon, Colton Nixon, Kyle Gunnett, Kaylee Gunnett and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Carol was loved throughout the community and always greeted everyone with a warm and welcoming smile. She worked in the banking industry for 46 years and served as Vice President of Unico Bank. She was loved by coworkers and customers. After her retirement, she enjoyed mushroom hunting, going on rides, going out to eat with friends and family and working around her home. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart and she followed them in all their activities. She was their number one fan. The special memories she gave to all will be treasured and she will be deeply missed.
Visitation for Carol was held Tuesday April 6th from 4-8 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 7th at 1 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home with Reverend Guy Conway and Pastor Dwight Petete officiating.
Burial and final prayers took place at Hopewell Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Freddie Nixon Jr, Blayne Nixon, Jeff Russell, Tommy Laramore, Brian Russell, Jason Coleman and Stanley Conway.
All services were under the care and direction of Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
