Donald Webb

Donald Clive Webb, of Festus was born February 8, 1931 in Edgehill, a son of the late A.B. Webb and Virgie (Clements) Webb. Don departed this life on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the age of 90 years.

He was united in marriage to Athalene (Parker) Webb on September 11, 1953.

Don is survived by his daughter LaDonna and Steve Nausley of Festus and his son David and Tracey Webb of Collinsville, Illinois; grandchildren, Kristin Nausley, Michael Nausley, Cassandra (Casey) Lawson, Courtney (Brian) Birch and Caleb (Christin) Webb; great grandchildren Noah, Jonah and Ruth Lawson and Jackson and Alexis Birch. Several nephews and nieces; a sister Alice Chester, two sisters-in-law Julia Webb and Adalee Parker-Wadlow.

He was preceded in death by his wife Athalene Webb, parents, a sister Aneatha Webb, a brother William J. Webb and a brother Darrel Webb; two sisters-in-law Leota Jaycox and Margaret Stafford, 4 brothers-in-law Paul Jaycox, Glenn Stafford, Preston Chester and Raymond Parker.

Don attended Chillicothe Business College from 1949 to 1950. He served in the Army from 1953 to 1955 doing a tour in Korea and active in reserves after separation from the Army. He worked for the Missouri Pacific/Union Pacific railroads from 1950 to 1988.

Don loved to study the Bible and taught men’s Sunday School several years. He was also active in the Gideon organization. “Jesus Christ, through his mercy became Don Webb’s savior at a spring revival at Mount Pleasant United Baptist Church in Goodland, Missouri in 1947”. He was a charter member and deacon of Faith Baptist Church in Festus and a member of Gideons.

Funeral services are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 9 to 11 A.M. at Faith Baptist Church in Festus, followed by a funeral service at 11 A.M. officiated by Bro. Matt Culbertson. Graveside services will be held at 3 P.M. at Boss Cemetery in Boss. Memorials in his memory are preferred to Faith Baptist Church Building Fund or Gideons.
