Paul Joseph Downey

Paul Joseph Downey of Arnold, was born on April 3, 1970 in St. Louis, a son of the late Patrick Melvin and Barbara Ann (Wright) Downey. Paul departed this life on Monday, April 26, 2021 at his residence at the age of 51.

Paul was preceded in death by his grandparents, Melvin and Helen Downey, and Mary McDowell; father and mother, Melvin and Barbara Downey; and nephew, Robbie Nash.

Those who remain to cherish his memory include his four children, Haley Wright (husband, Brandon), Alyssa Downey, Alexis Downey and fiancé John Le and Cordera Myers; nine grandchildren, Cayden, Kamryn, Heaven, Phoenix and Onyx Myers, Briley, Hayden, and Bronson Wright, and Penelope Le; eight siblings, Diane Martin (husband, Butch), Mike Wright (wife, Lisa), Tim Downey (wife, Terry), Mark Downey (wife, Janile), Cindy Hemme (husband, Mike), Patty Downey, Scott Downey and Jenny Erickson (husband, Mick). Paul is also survived by his uncle and aunt, John and Karen Wright; many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 30th from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, May 1st from 9 to 11 a.m. at DeClue Funeral Home.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 1st at 11 a.m. in the DeClue Chapel with Pastor Doug Tindell officiating. Interment followed at Hopewell Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
