From a June 1970 Edition... ‘Tom’ Jennings Services Held
Lester (Tom) Jennings son of the Late Robert Ellis and Julia Musick Jennings, was born at Lonedell, Missouri, on July 27, 1911, and departed this life at Jefferson Barracks Veterans Hospital, Saint Louis, Missouri, on Sunday, June 7, 1970, having reached the age of 58 years, 10 months and 10 days.
He was united in marriage on October 28, 1965, to Mary Champ Rulo who survives him. He is also survived by one stepson, Johnny Ray Rulo of St. Louis; two stepdaughters, Ada Marie Schneider of Union and Ruth Ann Gloriod of Richwoods; 12 grandchildren; one sister, Ethel Patton of Richwoods; four brothers, Guy Jennings of Spring Bluff, Virgil Jennings of St. Clair, and Arthur and Dave Jennings of St. Louis, his father-in-law, Joe Champ of Herculaneum, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.
A kind and loving husband and father, he will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was a veteran of World War II.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 10 at Elmwood Baptist Church, Rev. Forrest Lewis officiating. Interment was in the Church Cemetery. Arrangements were under direction of Casey-Lenox Funeral Home.
