Curtiss Govero

Curtiss Joseph Govero, 85, of Tiff passed away, Thursday May 13, 2021 in his home surround by his family. He was born September 7, 1935 in Tiff, son of Raymond and Valerie (Boyer) Govero.
Curtis worked at Hamilton and DeSoto Shoe Company. In his spare time, he enjoyed cutting wood, hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, throwing horseshoes, he coached his kids in baseball and softball and loved to play baseball himself but most of all he loved all the time spent with his grandchildren.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Tiff.
On June 20, 1952 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church he was united in marriage to Barbara Lee Gipson and to this union five children were born. They shared sixty eight years of marriage together.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Lee (Gipson) Govero of Tiff, his children Don (Sharon) Govero of Tiff, Alan (Anita) Govero of Cadet, Ellen Govero of Tiff, Pat (Mike) Boyer of Tiff, and Jan (Randy) Pinson of Cadet, his three brothers, Kay (Pat) Govero of Bonne Terre, Richard (Ray) Govero of Tiff, and Ronnie Govero of Cadet, his sister, Peggy Young of DeSoto, his fifteen grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, Dustin, Lucas, Nathan, Larissa, Zeb, Clint, Chelsea, Latonya, Kati, Eric, Beau, Caleb and Sean, great grandchildren, Jade, Albany, Samantha, Jessica, Alex, Carli, Carter, Curtis, Dalton, Kerstyne, Lincoln, Donte, Huk Madeline, Grace, Waylon, Kinslee, Riverly, Eli, Brayden, Jocelyn, Alexis, Tyson, Olivia, Cooper, John, Kaitlyn, Morgan, Joe, Bailey, Elaina, Karson and Addilyn, his four great-great grandchildren, Hunter, Lonni, Octavia and Hendrix, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Curtis was preceded in death by his father and mother Raymond and Valerie (Boyer) Govero; his siblings, Phillip Govero, Paulie Govero, Bonnie Backof, Barbara Dean Love, Maxine Johnston and Mary Ann Bourbon.
Services were held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, May 19th at 10 a.m. with Father Anthony Dattilo officiating. Interment followed in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Tiff.
Friends were received at Mahn Funeral Home, DeSoto on Tuesday, May 18th from 4 - 8 p.m.
Memorial donations can be made to St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Mahn Funeral Home DeSoto Chapel.
