Juanita Barber

Juanita Geneva (Owens) Barber, age 92, formerly of Potosi, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 18, 2021.
Juanita was born on March 22, 1929 in the small community of Top Ozark. She was the fourth child of nine born to Fred & Myrtle Owens. She always spoke fondly of the early days with her siblings and cousins.
On January 15, 1949, Juanita was united in marriage to Junior Barber. They celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary four months ago. Together they raised 3 children, Sandy, Denis and Becky, living in Illinois, Florida, Missouri and Michigan.
In 1957, Juanita was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and remained faithful throughout her life. During her 30 years in the Potosi congregation she developed some of her closest friendships. Due to her kind and loving manner, she was the listening ear that many family and friends relied on.
Juanita is survived by her husband, Junior Barber, her daughter, Becky Czyszczon; her daughter-in-law Susan Barber; sisters Darlene Gallahar and Karen Lawson; grandsons Jim Goble, Jeff Goble and Lance Barber; granddaughter Kaitlin McClure; great grandchildren Autumn, Marissa & Emma Goble, Arlen and Edie Barber; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

On May 22nd, more than 250 friends and family attended her Memorial Service via Zoom.
