Samuel Alvin Hawkins

Samuel “Sam” Alvin Hawkins, age 85, of Potosi, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at National Health Care in Desloge.  Samuel was born on Friday, May 29, 1936 in Bonne Terre.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Virgie (Whitaker) Hawkins; brothers, Donald, Herbert Jr., Timothy, Kenny and Hershel Hawkins; sisters, Dorothy Casby, Loretta French and Ruth Ann Hughes, Geraldine Bowen, Ellen Cash, Brenda DeClue and Susan Korn.

Sam is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Dolly Hawkins; children, David Hawkins and Dennis Hawkins; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Thursday, July 15th from 5 to 9 P.M. at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. Visitation resumed at 10 A.M. on Friday, June 16th from 10 A.M. until service time of 1 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Chaplain Justin Ogden officiating. Burial followed in Bonne Terre Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of C.Z Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre.
