Congratulations again to Patsy (Pat) Louise Nixon, a long-time teacher in the Potosi R-3 School District. She was recently selected as the 2021 Distinguished Retiree of the Year for the Washington County Retired School Personnel Association (WCRSPA).

The local unit submitted Pat’s application along with a list of her contributions to education since retirement, involvement in MRTA at the state and local levels and community service since retirement. Pat has been notified by the state office of MRTA in Jefferson City that she has also been chosen as the 2021 Distinguished Retiree of the Year for MRTA’s Reegion 11 .

MRTA’s Region 11 consists of the following ten counties: Bollinger, Iron, Madison, St. Francois, Perry, Reynolds, Shannon, Ste. Genevieve, Washington and Wayne. The unit from each of these counties can have their own Distinguished Retiree. The one Distinguished Retiree from those ten counties will move to the state.

MRTA is made up of fourteen Regions. Each of the fourteen regions then submits their own Distinguished Retiree to the state office. It is from these 14 Distinguished Retirees that the 2021 MRTA Distinguished Retiree for the Year for the State of Missouri is chosen.

Good Luck Pat Nixon!
