Missouri Hits ‘200’ Bicenntenial Ice Cream!

August 19, 2021

The Village of Caledonia, with Belgrade State Bank and the Old Village Mercantile, celebrated with an ice cream social throughout the afternoon at the Bank’s Caledonia facility.

Visitors enjoyed free ice cream, music by Ben Haguewood on the dulcimer, face painting and balloon creations by the ‘Party Crashers’.

Several people stopped to visit, note the day and the occasion and enjoy a visit in the historic downtown.

Visitors, both young and ‘young at heart’, enjoyed a nice afternoon with some delicious ice cream and good company.

The Old Mines Area Historical Society joined by ‘La Brigade’ served ice cream at the St. Joachim School on Tuesday evening, August 10th from 5:30 to approximately 7 p.m. The ice cream was provided by First State Community Bank and served during the Open House for St. Joachim Catholic School.

The kids and adults all enjoyed the ice cream as they visited and found out details about the new school year at St. Joachim in Old Mines.

Across the State, ice cream socials were going on during the day as Missourians jointly celebrated the ‘sweet treat’ during the warm Summer day.

The State of Missouri officially marked 200 years on Tuesday, August 10th, 2021.

More celebrations are planned for the rest of the year, one of which is a Bicentennial Parade in Jefferson City on Saturday, Sept. 18th, 2021.

Look for details, celebrate being a Missourian!
