Marvin “Joe” Joseph Barton of Irondale was born November 12, 1938 in Irondale, a son to the late Russell Barton and Florence (Weekley) Barton. Joe departed this life August 19, 2021 having reached the age of 82 years, 9 months and 7 days.

On December 1, 1958 Joe was united in marriage to Ruby Kathleen (Davis) Barton and they were blessed 62 years and many wonderful memories together.

Joe is survived by his loving wife Ruby Kathleen Barton of Irondale; sons, Marvin Dale Barton of Irondale, Lindell Richard Barton of Irondale; brother, Gary Barton and wife Laura of DeSoto; sisters, Sue Davis of Irondale, Brenda Hardy and husband Bob of Irondale; grandchildren, Crystal Barton, Candance, Nicolette Matzker, Matthew Barton, Sha-Lisa Queen, Zachuary Parmley, Kierston Barton, Hailey Barton, Mya Barton and many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brothers Russell Barton, Norman Barton, Randall Barton, Billy Ray Barton; sister, Linda Kay Harwell.

Joe was a genuine friend to all and never met a stranger. He served in the United States Army from 1962-1964 and proudly displayed his patriotism throughout his life. He was an avid outdoorsman and the serenity of Mother Nature brought him peace. He loved his family with his whole heart and loved spoiling his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by those he loved and his memory will never be forgotten.

Visitation for Joe was held Sunday, August 22nd from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.

Funeral services for Joe were held Sunday, August 22nd at 2 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home with Bro. Rob Hardy officiating.

Burial and final prayers took place at Hopewell Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Robert Lee lll, Terry Lynn Davis, John Russel Barton, Scott Davis, Mark Davis and Steve Davis.

All services were under the care and direction of Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
